"Did You Eat Yet?" Art Making

Works of youth and their families on display after at the Boston Children’s Museum.

Join us as we welcome our guest artist Ngoc-Tran Vu at the Museum!

Tran is a local community-based artist and a longtime friend of the Museum. Tran is currently working on a new public mural art project, in collaboration with the Food Pantry at Harbor Health and the City of Boston, and will soon to be installed and unveiled in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. Her new mural art is titled “Did you eat yet?”, which will invite people to have dialogs and reflections on food cultures and memories associated with food. While we learn about her new public art, Tran will invite us to participate in a fun art-making activity.

This program is part of the Boston Children’s Museum & Harvard Asia Center Partnership to celebrate Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.

STONEBREAKERS: A PROGRAM OF ROXFILM 2023

Shared Stories is a collaboration of BAAFF, RoxFilm and CineFest Latino Boston.

“Stonebreakers” chronicles the conflicts around monuments that arose in the United States during the George Floyd protests and the 2020 presidential election. As statues of Columbus, Confederates and Founding Fathers fall from their pedestals, the nation’s triumphalist myths are called into question. By exploring the shifting landscapes of American monumentality, the film interrogates the link between history and political action in a nation that must confront its past now more urgently than ever.

POST FILM Q&A:

Join us for a post-film conversation with on the challenges of monuments are our local response:
